New Video: Michael Francis “Nona’s Reservoir”

17 Jun

Michael Francis took a one year break, which is the average work stoppage between new projects. The new music video for “Nona’s Reservoir” could be categorized as a short film rather than a music video. The visuals fold into a romance that was eclipsed before it could be fulfilled. The imagery is spot-on with Michael Francis’ audio narrative.

The wait has officially started for Michael Francis’ forthcoming project, luckily he is offering a free download.

Director: Marcus Catillo

New Song: Toy Taha “Move On Without You”

13 Jun

Move-on-artSinger-songwriter Toy Taha officially releases the heart-wrenching third single “Move On Without You” from her upcoming debut project, I Am Woman… The R&B track speaks of a woman finally deciding to leave a relationship because of lies and broken promises. Basically, the woman realizes her man turned out to be someone other than what he portrayed himself to be in the beginning of the relationship and she realizes that she must let go. This song is special because it has a Sade sample & contains an interpolation from one of my most favorite Mariah songs “Crybaby” and I love, love, love both of them so much! Press play…

Ok, if it wasn’t enough for me with the return of Remy Shand, my heart almost stopped when I learned that someone so special who has been one of the most influential in my music and creations…the amazingly talented Amel Larrieux is back! I have been completely dying for original new music from Groove Theory frontwoman Amel since her third solo LP, Morning in 2006! So this was a BIG moment for me & all of her fans! Her last release was in 2007 standards album Lovely Standards, but finally a new song entitled, “Afraid” is here!!!

“Almost walked into a wall imaging your embrace…/…Got me afraid of you, so fine sometimes I forget to breath,” sings Larrieux.

There’s currently no word on if the track will make the final sequence of her upcoming album Ice Cream Every Day. I am loving the new track with her signature sound & beautiful harmonies! Sounds so good & completely refreshing!!! This will definitely be in heavy rotation around my house, at the job, in the car…everywhere, LOL! Listen here…

Welcome back AMEL! Continue reading
