Rap artist/lyricist NAS honors his friend Amy Winehouse in his new music video, which serves as the fifth visual from his #1 album, Life is Good. The hip-hop legend is a lounge bartender and footage of the late soulstress flashes against a brick wall. The video was directed by Jay Martin. Nas stated, “Amy was just one of a kind. We just clicked like that. May she rest in peace. She’s watching us, she’s holding me down and I’m holding her down here. It’s just love forever.” Nas also has tickets on sale right now for the 2013 concert at Radio City Music Hall, where he will perform in New York City on New Year’s Eve. Upcoming Tour: Nas & Lauryn Hill
22 SepThis will be a moment to remember! I’m still in awe of the surprise performance Lauryn Hill gave on July 4th in Philly! Hip-hop icons Nas and Lauryn Hill are joining forces as Autumn approaches with a joint tour entitled, “Life Is Good/Black Rage.” Nas will kick off the tour on October 6 in Columbia, Maryland with a few solo shows and Hill will join the trek on October 29 in Dallas, Texas. The inspiration for the tour’s mantra came from Nas’ latest album, Life Is Good, which was #1 on the Billboard Charts and “Black Rage” is a new song Lauryn Hill is slated to release next month about the derivative effects of racial inequity and abuse. Hill explained, “I use the performance platform as an opportunity to express the energy of that moment, and the intention behind it. I’ve been a long standing rebel against the stale, over commoditization. As artists we have opportunity to help the public evolve, raise consciousness and awareness, teach, heal, enlighten and inspire in ways the democratic process may not be able to touch. So we keep it moving.” Nas added, “This is history…Better late than never. Life is good!” Tickets are available today!
