It is no secret that I adore Janelle Monáe! And if it’s possible, I adore her even more for collaborating with two of my of favorite, favorite, favorite artists in the world, Icon Prince and progressive R&B heartthrob Miguel!
“We are great friends, and he is a mentor to us, to me,” Monáe reportedly told Billboard. “It’s a beautiful thing to have a friend — someone who cares about your career and wants to see you go far and to push boundaries and shake up the world — give whatever they possibly can to the cause.”
Although there isn’t much information circulating about Monae’s collaboration with Sir Prince, I am just thrilled to know that he has agreed to contribute to the LP. However, we do know that Janelle’s creation with Miguel is a love song entitled, “Primetime,” which samples the Pixies smash “Where Is My Mind?” infused with a funk beat. Continue reading

Directed by Constellation Jones, Grammy Award winning artist Miguel delivers his official video for “How Many Drinks?” featuring emcee Kendrick Lamar. “I’m super excited about this video because I haven’t seen a live performance video like this, done in a really long time,” explained Miguel. “It was really important to capture the artistry and the performance, and almost elevate the integrity and artistry of the song, because it is a pretty straight forward record. I thought this would be a really good way of people getting to understand a little bit more of who I am on stage and as a performer.” Watch now! Continue reading

Miguel joins J. Cole in the music video for their buzzing new collabo “Power Trip.” The two artists put a chilling and dark spin on the love song, as J. Cole commits murder in the grim visual.
The cinematic clip opens with a nervous-looking Cole at the strip club, cutting to him parked outside a girl’s house as her boyfriend, Miguel, gets ready to go out. Cole and a friend are later seen driving with wood and plastic bags on top of their car. A cop pulls them over along the highway, but lets them go after finding just a shovel in their trunk.
They continue to the forest, where we discover that Cole has acted out on his murderous plans as he unloads a body from the roof. But just who was the victim?

One can’t deny that Beyoncé knows how to choose her collaborators. She’s worked with The-Dream, Frank Ocean, Shakira, husband, Jay-Z, and now Miguel.
The singer-songwriter, who recently worked with Alicia Keys on “Kaleidsocope Dream” track, “Where’s the Fun in Forever,” teams up with King B.
Earlier tonight, Miguel shared a photo on Instagram of himself and Bey’ at a studio session. “… woah. creating for Virgo’s all weekend,” Miguel tweeted.
There aren’t details as to who’s project we can expect to hear the magic they’re creating. I’m crossing my fingers and toes it’s for an upcoming full-length of Bey’s.
Wouldn’t it be amazing if Bey’ debuted a Miguel-assisted song during Super Bowl?
