Buzz: Mariah Announces Album Release Date

This summer will mark the return of one of the biggest-selling artists of all time. Mariah Carey has announced a release date for her new album.

The pop diva’s first album in four years is due July 23. “The New Era Begins.. 7/23 #MC723,” tweeted Mimi.

The follow-up to 2009’s Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel has already spawned the Miguel-assisted single “#Beautiful,” which is currently No. 20 on the Billboard Hot 100.

She has been in the studio with hitmakers including Jermaine Dupri, Bryan-Michael Cox, Big Jim Wright, Hit-Boy, The-Dream, Mike WiLL Made It, and Rodney Jerkins. Continue reading →

New Video: Mariah Carey ft. Miguel “#Beautiful”

Less is more in the stunning video for Mariah Carey and Miguel’s duet “#Beautiful,” which debuted on “American Idol.” The pop diva looks gorgeous as she models some skimpy outfits and rides on the back of a motorcycle with Miguel in the minimalistic clip, directed by Joseph Kahn.

The follow-up to 2009′s Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel is due this summer featuring production from Jermaine Dupri, Bryan-Michael Cox, Big Jim Wright, Hit-Boy, The-Dream, Mike WiLL Made It, and Rodney Jerkins.

Mariah also confirmed that her twins, Monroe and Moroccan, will appear on the album, along with the top 3 “Idol” contestants, Candice, Kree, and Angie, who added their vocals to one song.

New Song: Mariah Carey ft. Miguel “#Beautiful”

The wait is over LAMBILY! Mariah Carey has officially released her new single “#Beautiful” featuring progressive R&B singer/producer Miguel. The single is slated to appear on the follow-up to MiMi’s 2009 Memoirs of An Imperfect Angel, reportedly due late June/early July. The upcoming project has productions from Hit-Boy, The-Dream, Rodney Jerkins, Big Jim Wright, Mike Will Made It, Bryan Michael-Cox and long time collaborator Jermaine Dupri.
Set to premiere on American Idol on Wednesday is the official video for “Beautiful,” directed by Joseph Kahn and Mariah will also kick off the “Good Morning America” Concert Series on May 24 in Central Park.

Buzz: Mariah Carey Teases Upcoming Collaboration with Miguel

The new era begins. Moments before the live “American Idol” results show, Mariah Carey surprised her Lambs by debuting a teaser for her new single “Beautiful” featuring Miguel. The song will be available on May 6, while the video was directed by Joseph Kahn.

Mimi is also expected to perform the song during the “GMA” Summer Concert Series kickoff on May 24.

New Video: Mariah Carey “Almost Home”

Mimi is back with a video for her new song “Almost Home,” which will feature on the movie soundtrack for Oz the Great & Powerful starring James Franco, Mila Kunis, and Michelle Williams. I love this track, especially her vocals towards the end & she looks so beautiful in this clip! Produced by Stargate and directed David LaChapelle (“Loverboy”), is interspersed with footage from the fantasy adventure film, which hits theaters today. Mariah’s two-year-old twins, Moroccan and Monroe, inspired her to write the song. “I’ve always just loved Disney, and now especially having two little babies—like all we do is watch animated movies, even though they’re so little, they still love them, especially Roc, my little boy,” she told VH1′s “Big Morning Buzz Live.” Watch here… Continue reading →

New Song: Mariah Carey “Almost Home”

Mariah Carey approaches the finish line on “Almost Home,” her new single from Disney’s fantasy adventure film Oz The Great and Powerful. The pop diva belts out inspirational words on the comforting tune, which she produced with Stargate and penned with Simone Porter, Justin Gray, Lindsey Ray, Tor Erik Hermansen, and Mikkel Eriksen.

“‘Almost Home’ has a message that works beautifully with the film,” said Mariah. “It’s a feel-good record, evoking the feeling of reaching your home and being with people that you love.”

David LaChapelle, who previously directed Mariah’s video for “Loverboy” and photographed her album covers, will helm the upcoming video.

Buzz: Mariah Carey Cuts New Song For Disney

Mariah Carey recorded a new song “Almost Home” for Walt Disney Pictures movie “Oz The Great And Powerful.” The movie, which was directed by Sam Raimi and stars James Franco, will arrive in theaters on March 8, 2013.

“Almost Home” was co-written and co-produced by Mariah, and it will be released by Island Def Jam on February 19, 2013. Mariah will film a music video for the song soon.

Buzz: MiMi’s upcoming endeavors

The Lambs have a lot to look forward to! Singer extraordinare Mariah Carey has officially signed on to be a judge on the upcoming 12th season of American Idol and I’m so excited about this venture. I’m sure her longtime friend and collaborator Randy Jackson had something to do with the persuasion. Personally, I believe this is exactly what talent shows need most, an artist who actually possesses great talent in order to critique others. Also, Carey recently collaborated with Maybach Music Group in April with rappers Rick Ross and Meek Mill for her new single “Triumphant (Get ‘Em),” scheduled to drop early August!!! So LAMBS let’s make this MiMi’s 19th #1 single! The track was produced by Bryan-Michael Cox & Jermaine Dupri. Mariah stated on her Twitter page, “I wrote TRIUMPHANT when I was going through a difficult time & it helped me get through it,” she said. “When u hear it, pay attention 2 the lyrics #WIN.” The upcoming release will be her 13th studio album and it’s well overdue! I can’t wait to see her interact with the contestants, as well as, hear the direction she takes with the new album. Anticipation is killing me! Stay tuned.

Buzz: Mariah to receive the 2012 BMI Icon honor

Pop diva Mariah Carey is currently working hard on her upcoming release, which will be her twelfth studio album and first since becoming a Mom and now she is set to join The Jacksons, Snoop Dogg, George Clinton, James Brown, Isaac Hayes, Little Richard, Al Green, The Bee Gees, Willie Nelson, Dolly Parton and more as a recipient of the BMI Icon held at the BMI Urban Awards on September 7th at the Saban Theatre in Beverly Hills. Carey will be honored for her music contribution at the upcoming event, which celebrates the work of songwriters, producers and publishers. The multi-Grammy winner has scored 18 Hot 100 No. 1 singles – more than any other solo artist in history and second in the all-genre, all-performer record books only to the Beatles – and has sold more than 200 million albums, singles and videos around the world. Congrats Mimi!!!
