Sneak Peek: The-Dream ft. Beyoncé & 2 Chainz “Turnt”
14 May
Last month, when The-Dream previewed a handful of tracks off his upcoming IV Play album, one that caught plenty of folks’ attention was “Fire,” a sultry track that featured vocals from a breathy Beyoncé.
Well, on Tuesday (May 14), a snippet of another collaboration between the two — a slithering, snake-charmer sex-jam called “Turnt” — began making the rounds … and this one manages to raise the temperature even more.
Over a slowly simmering beat, Beyoncé takes on the advances of a would-be lover and proclaims “People think I’m crazy, but I love you ’cause you’re crazy too.” As slinky keyboards slowly unfurl, The-Dream shows up to boast about his prowess — he’s the reason all of these cute girls got babies, just in case you were wondering — and the track carnally clicks along. Turn the lights down low. Take your time with it. We definitely need a cold shower after listening to this one.
But is the song — which reportedly also features 2 Chainz, though he isn’t heard on the preview — legit? Well, according to a spokesperson for The-Dream, the answer is yes.
After plenty of delays (and a name change,) IV Play is finally set to hit stores on May 28. “Turnt” is on there, and there could be plenty more collabos between The-Dream and Beyoncé coming soon. Earlier this year, the man known as Terius Nash told MTV News that he and Bey are working on making “music that feels good” for her upcoming album.
“If you seen [Beyoncé's HBO doc, "Life is but a Dream,"], which was great, we had been talking about doing something that showcases who she is and what she wants because we see those figures that are so out of the stratosphere,” he said. “She’s just shooting to be regular and OK and not trying to appease everybody … “You have to appease yourself and your soul for doing it.”

Buzz: Beyoncé Debuts New Song in H&M Campaign
25 AprBeyoncé soaks up the sun in her scorching-hot commercial for H&M’s summer collection. She sports a black bikini on the sandy shores, performs choreography in a flowing sun dress, and gets soaking wet in a bodycon dress.

“It was an exciting artistic collaboration building this Pepsi campaign around my new song, ‘Grown Woman,’” said B. “It felt so emotional when I was trying on all the costumes from my past. I was surrounded by so much of my history, especially on the 10th anniversary of ‘Crazy in Love.’”
Her stylist Ty Hunter reminisced on some of her iconic looks, from the “Crazy in Love” jean shorts and red pumps to the gold dress from the “Run the World (Girls)” video.
Choreographer Frank Gatson Jr. set out to revolutionize the dance world with the new routine. “The movement that we tried to create was a little bit of fun, a little bit of country, a little bit of inner city urban,” he explained.
B summed up the commercial’s concept. “It’s being proud of who you were, but living in the now and living in the moment,” she said. “I’m very proud of how far I’ve gone and who I am now and who I’m surrounded by. Buzz: Beyoncé Collaborates with H&M
22 MarBeyoncé continued her world domination today when she unveiled her highly anticipated H&M ads.
We kind of knew this was coming, though — rumors began to swirl back in January that the singer was working on a campaign for the Swedish retailer when one of her dancers at the shoot tweeted an accidental confirmation. But now the first shot is finally here!
The Inez & Vinoodh-lensed snap from the summer 2013 campaign features Bey lounging in the Bahamas in printed shorts, a silky blouse, high-heels and bangles. Sounds like it was plucked straight from her closet, no? That’s because the star herself had a hand in design, so prepare yourself for plenty of bodycon dresses and embellished bikinis.
“I’ve always liked H&M’s focus on fun and affordable fashion. I really loved the concept we collaborated on to explore the different emotions of women represented by the four elements — fire, water, earth and wind. It was a beautiful shoot on a tropical island,” Beyoncé said. “It felt more like making a video than a commercial.” Continue reading
