Buzz: Behind the Scenes of Beyoncé’s Mrs. Carter World Tour

21 May

Beyoncé gives the Beyhive an inside look behind the scenes of her Mrs. Carter World Tour in eight short clips and explains the reason why she had to cancel her first show in Antwerp, Belgium. There was so much speculation after E! News reported that multiple sources confirmed the international star was with child once more, but from her own mouth, the force behind the cancellation was tonsillitis and exhaustion and although, Beyoncé’s doctors recommended that she hold off from performing the second night in Antwerp, she mustered up the will to get on stage & give a great show! The footage also shows her band, dancers, lead choreographer Frank Gatson and the first performance of “Grown Woman.” Watch the short clips below:

12 Apr

R&B veteran in the game Brandy recently revealed three clips of behind the scenes footage into her Japanese tour video diary for her amazing album, Two Eleven. The clips display a closer look into Brandy’s backstage world, as well as, her interactions with the band, dancers and Brandy just being silly having fun. Brandy celebrated 18 years in the music industry not so long ago, so these clips were rally nostalgic for me to watch with footage of B singing: “Sittin Up In My Room,” “The Boy Is Mine,” “Sitting On Top of The World,” “What About Us?” “Wildest Dreams” and where it all began “I Wanna Be Down.”

Brandy was also surprised by Roc Nation artist Rita Ora backstage following her performance. Watch the footage here… Continue reading

Behind The Scenes: Beyoncé’s Pepsi “Mirrors” Commercial

5 Apr

Can’t get enough of Beyoncé’s Pepsi “Mirrors” commercial? Well, you’re in luck. Pepsi serves up some behind-the-scenes footage from the global campaign. Witness all the details that went into making the 60-second spot—from the wardrobe to the choreography. Plus, you can hear more of B’s new song “Grown Woman.”

“It was an exciting artistic collaboration building this Pepsi campaign around my new song, ‘Grown Woman,’” said B. “It felt so emotional when I was trying on all the costumes from my past. I was surrounded by so much of my history, especially on the 10th anniversary of ‘Crazy in Love.’”

Her stylist Ty Hunter reminisced on some of her iconic looks, from the “Crazy in Love” jean shorts and red pumps to the gold dress from the “Run the World (Girls)” video.

Choreographer Frank Gatson Jr. set out to revolutionize the dance world with the new routine. “The movement that we tried to create was a little bit of fun, a little bit of country, a little bit of inner city urban,” he explained.

B summed up the commercial’s concept. “It’s being proud of who you were, but living in the now and living in the moment,” she said. “I’m very proud of how far I’ve gone and who I am now and who I’m surrounded by. This is really a beautiful concept and it makes me proud.” Watch here: Continue reading

Behind the Scenes: Melody Gardot “The Absence”

2 Jun

The Absence is the third record from Grammy-nominated Melody Gardot. Produced by Heitor Pereira, renowned  for his work as a film composer (Despicable Me, It’s Complicated, From Prada to  Nada) and world-class session guitarist (Sting, Simply Red, Caetano Veloso), the Brazilian-born, US-based artist shared Melody’s enthusiasm for driving off the beaten path of Western pop, jazz, blues and soul. And he was as adventurous as Miss Melody when it came to inventive sonic ideas. From the deserts of Morocco to the streets of Lisboa, from the tango bars of Buenos Aires to the stunning beaches of Brazil, “The Absence” captures the essence of each of these exotic locales, while also still remaining quintessentially Melody Gardot. The album is now available!!! I love her and the behind the scenes footage made me feel great being that my family has a background in Brasil. Watch here…
