So, most of the time when I select the throwbacks, I think about the music that really touched my soul, struck a chord with me, and made me love this amazing thing called music and I remember my parents playing this song approximately 20 years ago and I just LOVED it. “People Everyday” is such a feel-good song and it placed Arrested Development in heavy rotation on my walkman, yes, walkman. The song contains an interpolation of the 60s hit by Sly & the Family Stone and is taken from the album 3 Years, 5 Months & 2 Days In The Life Of…, which noted the time it took for the Grammy Award-winning band to bag a record deal. I loved the band so much because they were conscious artists and utilized live instrumentation to hold the perfect balance between hip-hop and soul.
