New Song: Ricco Barrino ft. Fantasia “Hood”

28 Feb

Sister and brother Fantasia & Ricco Barrino collab on a new song “Hood”. Ricco is currently signed to T.I.’s label Grand Hustle Records and I’m looking forward to hearing more of him. The track is a triumphant song about overcoming your struggles. I just love the last minute, especially because both artists are bringing their gospel roots into the song and it’s such a great moment. New Song: Dawn Richard “Fly”

28 Feb

Singer-songwriter Dawn Richard releases another track just for the Hearts (her fans) entitled, “Fly”. The song is quite a banger and even though, she used some effects, by now her audience should know that she doesn’t need them at all. It feels as if she used the effects for a different dimension or more innovative sound than her previous works. For me, it’s just a swagged out uptempo that describes how ”Fly” she is. The anticipation is growing for the EP, as well as, her first studio album! Listen here…

Brooke Valentine (now known as B. Valentine) debuted in 2005 with her album Chain Letters that generated the hit “Girlfight” and now she’s ready to come back with a new track “Forever.” Apparently, while on hiatus, Valentine became a Mom and you can see that she’s beaming with pride, so much so, that she included pics of her little man. It’s really sweet! Here is the new video from the upcoming sophomore album via Subliminal Entertainment…watch now!

New Song: Nicki Minaj ft. Lil Wayne “Roman Reloaded”

24 Feb

Nicki Minaj revisits her gritty side with “Roman Reloaded”, the title-track of her upcoming LP. Although the lyrics are raw, this is what I expect from Nicki, it goes much more harder than her Pop songs & her last couple of Hip-hop releases. Wanye’s verse reminds me of the swag he carried a couple of years ago, so this collab is definitely fire. Listen here… {Disclaimer: The audio is explicit}

New Song: J. Cole “Grew Up Fast”

24 Feb

RocNation artist J. Cole drops a new joint entitled “Grew Up Fast” that opens with an incredible David Ruffin sample, produced by Canei Finch. Cole recently wrapped a new video for his next single, “Nobody’s Perfect” featuring Missy Elliott. “It’ll probably be my best video yet, visually,” he stated about the production. “Man, just to have Missy on that set and to see her singing the song that I wrote. It’s Missy, I don’t think people really understand; that’s my era and how I look at her and how creative she is and her and Timbaland and the things that they did. That was a beautiful moment right there.”  Also, this spring Cole will embark on his Campus Consciousness / The Sideline Story Tour. The 17-city tour starts on April 11 in Kingston, R.I., and ends on May 4 in South Orange, N.J. Listen to “Grew Up Fast” now… {Disclaimer: The following audio is explicit}

Upcoming Tour: The-Dream

24 Feb

The-Dream is ready to take his show on the road. In preparation for his Love IV album, the singer/songwriter is getting ready to embark on a new tour, and on Thursday (February 23), he’s planning to drop a new song to commemorate the run. The Kill the Lights Tour will begin March 11 in New York, and The-Dream is dropping his new single of the same name. “The name of the song is actually ‘Kill the Lights,’ featuring my artist Casha,” he said on Wednesday’s “RapFix Live.”

The song will be featured on the upcoming Love IV, which the ATL crooner estimates will be out in the spring or summer — he doesn’t want to put an exact date on it. The-Dream already dropped the LP’s first single, “ROC,” earlier this year, and in addition to his new LP, he wants to concentrate on grooming Casha, who made her first appearance on The-Dream’s free digital album 1977 singing a remake of Minnie Riperton’s “Love, Stop Making a Fool of Me.”

“I’m just channeling and building her the right way and giving her the right time,” he said of his new artist. “I’m not trying to get, ‘She better come out and sell this’; I’m not doing that. She’s too talented for that.”

Instead of creating microwave hits with Casha, The-Dream would rather take his time. “She’s going to sell on her own, she’s great, she’ll be fine,” he said. “I’m trying to slow-bake it.” View tour dates after the jump…
