I remember my grandparents playing The Temptations when I was younger and when I became older, I discovered more of their music . The Temps have so many great songs that laid the foundation for soul music and this cover happened to be on The Anthology I purchased and when I heard it, I fell in love with it. I love the passion in the lead vocals by Dennis Edwards, as well as, the beautiful harmonies from the remaining members. Of course, I love Donny Hathaway’s “A Song For You”, but this version is solid, too. It always surprises people that I’m such a huge fan of 60s music and groups being that when those songs were composed, I wasn’t quite thought of yet. However, this was recorded in the 70s and there’s a spirit in it that really touches me. Press play…
