Another favorite of mine is “In The Air Tonight” by Phil Collins. The song is taken from his 1981 album release Face Value. I love it because there’s an underlying frustration that he has throughout the song and the vocals seem constricted, yet towards the end he unleashes what he was holding back. It was noted that Collins wrote “In The Air Tonight” during divorce proceedings and he was completely free-styling behind the mic, so my analysis makes sense. You know you have a hit when multiple artists sample your song as well! This is probably the ONLY song I will ever love with vocoded vocals…Press play!

New Song: Olivia “Walk Away”
10 Dec
After a lukewarm response to her latest song “December”, former G-Unit singer Olivia releases a new song entitled “Walk Away”. It sounds good to me, but I wanted more from her, especially after seeing how much confidence and cockiness she displays on her VH1 show Love and Hip-Hop. I feel the song should have came much harder, it sounds like something I’ve already heard before. You be the judge! Listen here…

From his latest album Planet Pit, Pitbull collaborates with Chris Brown for “International Love “. This song is a party anthem with green screen visuals that seems they had a lot of fun. “The music video is about the global presence of Mr. Worldwide, how he went from Mr. 305 to being a global phenomenon,” said director David Rousseau. “Now the world is his stage.” Pitbull added, “It’s all about the music being global, the music being the universal language and it goes to show you no matter what language you may speak and or not speak, you speak music.” Watch here…
